Audience Feedback

I like how you use blackouts for the title sequence between the shots as it draws attendtion to who are the people you have given credits to. I also like about asynchronous sound of people cheering while he is training to show that its not happening at the moment or it is in his mind. Its great!

very good use of soundtack and music guys. I love the idea of non diegetic audeience cheering juxtaposing with the suspense building music.

I like how it cuts into the credits at the beginning with the visuals in between. The sound effects also add to the build-up of the suspense. I like the way the storyline is presented through a series of different clips and settings.

The use of the steady beating of the soundtrack creates the idea of a heartbeat, which is successful in creating suspense. This in conjunction with the titles appearing on a black screen really stand out, and again emphasize this tense atmospere. Throughout the opening of the sequence, this tense atmosphere builds up gradually. Overall, a really good video. Well done :)

I love the opening shots with the cross fade, together with the music i think it created a really good atmosphere of suspence. i agree that the classical music went really well with contrasting the actor. slowley opening the scene as you went along by starting with extreme close ups and greadually using wider shots was a great idea, it made a good, clear path in which the veiwer wanted to follow.

nice one mate!

This Audience feedback did agree with a lot of my opinions on how we got the sounds of an audience cheering in the background, but as an echo to that the event was in his mind and not actually. I'm glad people managed to see that. The music in our sequence was to show that there is a sad part to what our character is thinking but also determination. Its good that people picked up on the type of music we put in our sequence. I also saw some people commenting on our camera shots and editing styles. I do agree that the quick cuts between each scene built up tension and that the close ups of his face, really showed his expression and emotion whilst thinking about all his training he had to go through to win the last fight.

Task 7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

I have learnt from this project is more about the different types of camera angles, 180 degree rule, I have learnt most about editing, whilst doing the finishing touches of editing to our film, I have learnt all about the cuts of the different scenes and how to change the speed of the action taking place. All these things about editing have interested me a lot during the project and it has influence me to want to do more of it. The whole day filming our project, working with professionals, and being able to direct some of our film, got me learning a lot more about the ways of how to use a professional camera. I also learned whilst filming the action taking place to use the camera like playing an instrament. Using techniques like close-ups, tracking. These techniques helped us present the mood of what was happening. For example, we chose to use close ups on his face and his hands wrapping the boxing tape around his hands to show the emotion going through his mind. We also used close ups on his body working out, to really show how hard he was working and to show the sweat on his body to show how long he had been working out. The aim of the close ups we used was to also get the audience to relate to what Dan our character was feeling at the time. We also used lighting to creat a mood in this task, whereas in our prilimary task we did not use this teachnique. Instead we used the head lights in the room, so this did not create as much of a mood.

After our filming day we have been concentrating on editing. In this task we focused on working on every detail of the footage. We have been aiming to make the emotion and the mood of our film a lot clearer through editing, which has succeeded greatly. This is because we new what we had to translate to our audience in our editing, so we all knew exactly what we had to achieve. An example of this, is that we wanted to show how hard Dan was working for his last fight and we wanted to show exactly what he was thinking, and how much training and pain Dan had to go through to get his way. So we made thing clear by creating sequences of his training progress. To get it right, we had to cut from one shot to another without breaking the flow of the sequence. not only did we have to do this but we also had to build up the tension and the tension of the end of our beginning. To create this effect we made the speed of our piece get faster and faster, however we slowed the speed down when it cuts back to Dan sitting in the changing room, rapping his hand with the which boxing tapes. So this creates the effect of the editing showing to the audience that all the working out that dan was doing throughout or sequence, is in his thoughts, it also suggests the emotion dan is feeling.

Our set for our thriller was a much better set up than our set in our preliminary task, in our thriller we had a big studio to work in, with a brick wall to give us a background of Dan working in a basement area. With our preliminary task we had other things around our set which did relate to our storyline, or our piece. we also had our characters sat in an awkward place. For example one of our characters was sat at a desk with a telephone, where he did not look like he was not in a office but in a classroom, which he was in at the time. The preliminary task was not as organised and in as much detail as our thriller project. That is also another reason for why I enjoyed doing our thriller project.

Task 6 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

We used Youtube to edit our film even more by writing in speech bubbles expaining whats happening in our opening sequence just to make it even more clear towards the audience about how we did things to do with technology and our storyline.

Task 4 Who would be the audience for your media product?

The age of the audience we are targetting our film at is mainly around the age of 16 to 30 years old. This film is all about fighting and boxing and boys around 16/17 are inspired by these tough men, and they would like the action of this film and the storyline of revenge. Our storyline can also mirror other people's lives and so these people would want to watch it. so our thriller is based on reality and revenge. People around 16 and older like watching things which is based on reality. So the main audience is males for this film, however females may like to watch this film too because of the storyline about the brother. We have got our idea from the film "Fight Club" and this film turned out to be popular within the teenage group and so we would be hoping for the same type of audience. So our secondary audience would be people around the age of 30/40. This age may have had a history of this in reality and may like to watch it to see what other people present the fighting world on film. older men who are into watching fighting and the boxing world would definatly go watch a film like this because it means they could test how much we got right about the boxing world. This genre of our film would mainly attract males. It is an action movie, so men would mainly be the audience.

These two pictures are from the film "Fight Club" which we got some of our ideas off.
This picture is a photo i picked up from google, thinking that these two boys are an example of who we are aiming our film at. Our target audience.

Task 3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The media institution which could distribute our film is Vertigo studios. Its an English company, it has distributed films like Street dance which is set in London, around Batasea area. Our setting is around north London, Vertigo is the company which would make our film big because it is the biggest film company in England. It would handel the distribution of advertising our film. Task 2 What type of social groups our project is set towards

Our film is showing the working class type of group. The star in our film is set to be from a rough area of london. He has an east london accient and he's an 18 year old boy, so this shows that he is quite young to do all this boxing. So this is talking about the younger generation getting into boxing, and showing his background. So we are aiming this film at the younger generation mostly at teenage boys. This is because our film genre is an action film and young teenage boys would be interested in this type of film. So the groups we aimed to represent, are the kids who grew up in a rough area of london, and had a poor background whilst growing. Our character has personal issues and this could represent reality to other kids.
