What Is A Thriller

In our lessons we have been studying the film 'The Usual Suspects'. This films genre is a thriller movie and I have descovered that to create a thriller movie there are five techniques used to create this. The lighting, the sound, Mis-en-scene, Editing and the camera angles and types. These five techniques bring out the mood of the film and it also gives the audience a bigger and clearer view of the genre and the story line of the film. With 'Usual Suspects' these techniques were all used. We studied the first 7 minutes of 'Usual Suspects' and we found out that this film is a thriller by seeing the dark lighting, dramatic musical sounding, the tracking shots of the camera, etc. The front cover of the 'Usual Suspects' showed us that it was a thriller by the big bold red writing, the five men standing in the prsion all lined up and what the five characters were wearing.
