EVALUATION OF THE DAY

When our shooting day came up we put up a set of brick walls and hung a punch bag up so it looked like our character was training for his big fight in the basement. This set made the area look quite dingy, and rough looking. We then started coming up with different ideas of what we wanted our actor to do. All three of us shared in the different roles of filming, the lighting, the microphone. We filmed most of our film in the Hurtwood studios, but when it came to where dan was getting ready for the fight, we filmed that in the bots changing rooms in hurtwood.

Thriller projects/locations/props and costumes

Our main character is called Dan and he boxes and fights for a living. He is around 18 years old, he fights for his stepfather who sets up fights for money. Dan's brother jack also used to fight as living, however he was killed in a fight. Later on in the opening, dan discovers the fight that killed his brother was set up by his stepfather and this fuels Dan's anger towards his stepfather. So the opening sequence we show Dan in the changing room, sitting on the bench with a voice over of him telling his story of his brother and stepfather, and we show him working out, looking stressed and angry for revenge. He is getting ready for a fight. During the voice over and him in the changing rooms, we see what is going on in his mind and, he takes us back to when he was with his brother when they were younger. We show him remembering happy memories and so this shows people his emotion at the time. The flash back is of the two boys playing in a living room of their old home when they were young boys.

The props we used is boxing gloves, boxing hand bandages, a punching bag, boxing shorts, boxing tape
We filmed our project in the hurtwood studios, and we also filmed it in the boys changing rooms to show where Dan is getting ready for the fight. Dan was wearing trackies and a plain white top in some of the shots we took of him. However we decided to have some shots with him without a top on to show he had been working out, and hot from the energy. Dan was the only cast member we had in our thriller. Apart from the odd time when you saw a trainer telling him what to do while training for the fight coming up. We only needed him in our first few minutes of the film, this is to show that the attension is focused around him.
Here is an example of the type of place we filmed part of our film.
